What Power Flushing Achieves

A power flush is a comprehensive cleaning process for your central heating system. We use a specialist pump to circulate industrial-strength cleaning chemicals through every part of the circuit — every radiator, every pipe run, and your boiler's heat exchanger. The chemicals dissolve the iron oxide sludge that has settled in your radiators and the limescale that has coated the inside of your boiler and pipework.

Each radiator is flushed individually, with the flow direction reversed to reach deposits in corners and at the base of the panels. We continue until the water flowing out of each radiator is clear, indicating that the contamination has been removed. The system is then refilled with clean water and treated with a corrosion inhibitor to slow down future sludge formation.

Snodland's water supply is hard, as it is across all of Kent. Hard water accelerates limescale deposition inside heating systems, which means systems here may need flushing more frequently than those in soft water areas. A power flush every 5 to 8 years, combined with a magnetic filter and maintained inhibitor levels, keeps your system running efficiently.
